REMINDER:
The only students who should be on campus after 1:45 pm on Wednesdays should be those who:
- Participate in a legitimate KS-sponsored after school activity
- Ride on a shared bus route with elementary students at 2:40 pm.
- Wait for Kamaaina Kids supervisors to open up the dining hall at 2:40 pm.
‘Oi Kelakela Coupons:
The ‘Oi Kelakela Incentive Store has been up and running for over a week now … check it out at recess to see opportunities to “spend” your coupons!
Upcoming events where coupons can be “spent” include the following:
10/19 to 10/23: Ice Cream treats will be available for 5 coupons at lunch (while supplies last)
10/26 and 10/27: Hu’ina Pizza Luncheons and Open Tetherball Time (reservations for 20 coupons each person need to made through Mr. Chow prior to 10/23)
10/29 Big Run & Pa’ina Day Celebration: Saimin will be available for 10 coupons (while supplies last)
In addition, some grade levels may be having grade level specific incentives with additional opportunities to “spend” your coupons.
Your coupons can also be redeemed for ‘Apu Lanakila points at the exchange rate of 10 points per coupon. Points will go towards your advisory AND your grade level.
C’mon students! Demonstrate KULEANA & ALOHA, earn those coupons, and decide whether to “spend” them or “exchange” them for ‘Apu Lanakila points!
#Project Smile:
Donate your new or gently used stuffed animals, books, small toys, coloring/craft supplies, etc. for the children in the Pediatric Ward at the Hilo Medical Center. Bring your items next week and drop them off in Mrs. Ah Chongʻs room. Any questions see Tylee Calicdan.

Please check the lost and found for any items youʻre missing. All unclaimed items will be donated during fall break. (Please see Mrs. Ah Chong for any lost small items or electronics.)
8th Grade Students:
Are you ready for your huakaʻi? If you are interested in learning how to process chickens – you can volunteer to help. If you are available, please see Mr. Courtotʻs blog or sign up using the link below. The event will take place on Sat. Oct. 3rd from 8-11am.

Middle School Sports:
Girls Volleyball: Blue team practice Thursday (10/1) after school. No practice during fall break. October game schedule will be coming soon. Please check Mr. Kaaaʻs blog at the KMS Volleyball link to see if it is posted.
Boys Basketball: practice on Wednesdays and Fridays at Laʻamea Gym from 3:30-5:15. There will be practice during the break.
Cross Country: cross country meet on Sat., Oct. 3 at Waimea Park starting at 10:00

Picture Retakes: Wednesday October 14th, will be picture retakes for staff and students who were absent, or who would like to retake their pictures. If you plan to retake your pictures, please bring your picture packet back on Oct. 14th. Re-takes will be in the Art Gallery starting at 8:15 am.
