Carnation Sale for Valentineʻs Day:  $1.50 for a carnation with card being sold from Feb. 2-9, in Building 1 (6th & 7th grade building).  Donations will go to support the Liliʻuokalani Trust.

Reservations for this Wednesday’s Pizza luncheon and exclusive afternoon recess are still being taken. Cost is $20 ‘Oi Kelakela and must be turned in the office by morning recess on Wednesday. Be sure to write your name on each of the coupons in order to be considered for Pa’ina Day drawings.

Can you create a new and useful item for the community out of a fantastic material?  Come to the art studio to get a sample of the material and invent with a new or repurposed item.  This invention should be able to serve the greater community with useful purpose in mind.  Winners of the contest will get a prize.  For more information or to submit ideas… please see Mrs. Nahulu Kirsch. Deadline for contest submissions is January 30th.

ʻOhana Fun Run:
There will be an ʻOhana Fun Run at Shipman Park January 31, 2015.  Registration is at 8am.  Middle school MILE run is at 10am.   This is a FREE event with entertainment, food concession, clothing giveaway, make and take activities and informational booths.  Please wear your PE uniform and bring a water bottle.  The school with the most participants will be given a perpetual trophy!   A Free Formative pass for PE will be given to those who register and run!  Please contact Mrs. Thompson if you have any questions.  lithomps@ksbe.edu.

Concussion Test:
The next baseline concussion test for middle school students will be today, 1/22, at the high school learning center. Check-in begins at 3:30pm. The test should take no longer than 45min. The last group will begin no later than 4:15pm (ending by 5pm). Middle school students should make arrangements for transportation home from the high school learning center. Students will not be allowed to walk back to the middle school campus unsupervised.

Can you create a new and useful item for the community out of a fantastic material?  Come to the art studio to get a sample of the material and invent with a new or repurposed item.  This invention should be able to serve the greater community with useful purpose in mind.  Winners of the contest will get a prize.  For more information or to submit ideas… please see Mrs. Nahulu Kirsch. ʻOhana Fun Run:
There will be an ʻOhana Fun Run at Shipman Park January 31, 2015.  Registration is at 8am.  Middle school MILE run is at 10am.   This is a FREE event with entertainment, food concession, clothing giveaway, make and take activities and informational booths.  Please wear your PE uniform and bring a water bottle.  The school with the most participants will be given a perpetual trophy!   A Free Formative pass for PE will be given to those who register and run!  Please contact Mrs. Thompson if you have any questions.  lithomps@ksbe.edu.

Concussion Test:
The next baseline concussion test for middle school students will be next Thursday at the high school learning center. Check-in begins at 3:30pm. The test should take no longer than 45min. The last group will begin no later than 4:15pm (ending by 5pm). Middle school students should make arrangements for transportation home from the high school learning center. Students will not be allowed to walk back to the middle school campus unsupervised.

Middle School Sports:
Boys Basketball – Practice on MWF from 3:30-5:30 in Laʻamea.  11-12 Game tomorrow at 5:45 at Papaikou.
Girls Basketball –  Practice on Thursday from 3:30-5:30 in Laʻamea.
Golf – Practice TTh at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course from 3:30-5:00.
Cheerleading – Practice TTh from 3:30-5:30 at Keaka Playcourt.
