The jingle bell run is a non-competitive fun run which takes place in the Christmas season.  Some runners choose to wear Santa attire or other seasonal attire.  The race begins behind Prince Kuhio Plaza, near the Hele On bus stop.  One lap around the block is about 1 mile.  Runners and walkers can choose to go as many laps as they want.  No fee for the event, but they encourage a donation of toys and/or food for the Salvation Army.

Opens on Friday, Dec. 4th at 4:00 pm in the Middle School Art Gallery.  Show runs from Dec. 4 to Jan. 8, hours are from 3:00-5:00 pm Monday-Friday.

Did you know it’s computer science week?  Well if you didn’t, you know now!  To celebrate, Kula Waena is participating in HOUR OF CODE 2016!  Whether you’ve never written any code or you’re an expert, we have an activity for you.  Simply sign up by clicking here.  If you complete an HOUR OF CODE this week, you will be entered in a drawing to win a Jamba Juice gift card and will receive a certificate of participation!  But remember, to be eligible, you must sign up using this link.  Mrs. Cordeiro will be in front of the office during recess Tuesday-Thursday for anyone who wants to code together or if you need a little help.  Check out this trailer and this website for more information or email Mrs. Cordeiro at [email protected].  BTW, this activity isn’t just for kids.  Teachers, you can participate too!  Will you take the challenge?
