Uniform Reminder:
Just a friendly dress code reminder to students that sweat pants are NOT part of our standard attire.  On these cold January mornings, students may wear sweat pants during transport to school but must remove them before stepping off the bus, out of the car, etc.  Basically, when students step foot on campus, they need to be in proper uniform.

Last Chance for Lost and Found:  Please check the lost and found cart to claim your items.  All items not claimed by today will be donated.

Christmas Break Pictures:  Share what you did over the break with pictures.  To Upload your photos:  Connect to server/type this link – smb://ehstud1/public and open/ look for your Grade Level Drop Box and then folder, “Christmas Break Photos” and drop your photos there.  The Media Communications class will be compiling the photos to share with our Kula Waena.

Attention class of 2019
The 5K Holo run is around the corner.  The PE department is looking for a student generated design for this yearʻs t-shirt.  The design will be placed on either the front or back.  Up to two (2) colors can be incorporated to the design.  Entries are due on Tuesday, 1/6/15.  Any questions see Mr. Masuko.

DETENTION
Students with outstanding detention on Friday 1/9/15 will not be reporting to the dance.  Instead they will need to join other students as they work on a school-service project.

Also, detention can be worked off in the morning before school starts at 7:25am – see Mr. Nordblom.

Middle School Sports:
Boys Basketball – 11-12 game today at 5:45 at Papaikou.
Girls Basketball –  11-12 game today at 5:00 at Shipman.
Golf – practice starts on Thursday, 1/8, at the Hilo Municipal Golf Course from 3:30-5:00.  Golfers catching the mini-bus to the golf course should meet at Mrs. Ah Chongʻs room right after school.
Cheerleading – Starts on Tues., 1/13, from 3:30-5:30 at Keaka Playcourt.

Ka ‘Umeke Laulima Jobs (In-School Tasks)
Mrs. Pacheco has 13 jobs available.  If any advisory is interested, please have a class representative contact Mrs. Pacheco by email.

Ka ‘Umeke Laulima Jobs (Community-Based Service)
The following jobs are available to any advisory that would like to sign up:

Salvation Army Angel Tree – Prince Kuhio Plaza

  • Monday 12/8/14 (4:15 – 7:30 pm)
  • Tuesday 12/9/14 (4:15 – 7:30 pm)
  • Wednesday 12/10/14 (4:15 – 7:30 pm)
  • Tuesday 12/16/14 (4:15 – 7:30 pm)
  • Wednesday 12/17/14 (4:15 – 7:30 pm)

The table at the Plaza needs to staffed by 2 or 3 students and 1 adult (parent/guardian or advisor) at all times.  The 3+ hour shift can be split up amongst advisory students and adults … or 2 students/1 adult can volunteer to cover the entire shift on their own.

This is always a fun activity to take part in during the Holidays and it’s also a great way for students* to gain points for their advisory!  Contact Mrs. Pacheco ASAP to take advantage of this opportunity to be of service to others.

* Although 100% participation by each advisory member is desirable, it is not mandatory.
