Today’s Borrow Me! Realistic Book
Rayne & Delilah’s Midnite Matinee by Jeff Zentner – “Every Friday night, best friends Delia and Josie become Rayne Ravenscroft and Delilah Darkwood, hosts of the campy creature-feature show Midnite Matinee on the local cable station TV Six.
But with the end of the senior year quickly approaching, the girls face tough decisions about their futures. Josie has been dreading graduation, as she tries to decide whether to leave for a big university and chase her dream career in mainstream TV. And Lawson, one of the show’s guest performers, a talented MMA fighter with weaknesses for pancakes, fantasy novels, and Josie, is making her tough decision even harder.
Scary movies are the last connection Delia has to her dad, who abandoned the family years ago. If Midnite Matinee becomes a hit, maybe he’ll see it and want to be a part of her life again. And maybe Josie will stay with the show instead of leaving her behind, too.
As the tug-of-war between growing up and growing apart tests the bonds of their friendship, Josie and Delia start to realize that an uncertain future can be both monstrous…and momentous.” (amazon.com)But behind the scenes, a fierce competition is underway: a duel between two young magicians, Celia and Marco, who have been trained since childhood expressly for this purpose by their mercurial instructors. Unbeknownst to them both, this is a game in which the only one can be left standing. Despite the high stakes, Celia and Marco soon tumble headfirst into love, setting off a domino effect of dangerous consequences, and leaving the lives of everyone, from the performers to the patrons, hanging in the balance.” (amazon.com)

My name is Madison Kobayashi; for my Senior Legacy Project, I am planning to hold water polo lessons that will be available for grades 3-8. More information on this program can be found below and on the attached flyer. If interested, please complete the Google form link below; deadline to sign-up is Friday, 9/20 @ 8:00pm.
About the program:
The purpose of my Senior Legacy Project is to introduce and promote the sport of water polo. Students who choose to be involved in this activity will be able to have an enjoyable experience, that I hope will spark a new interest for them!
Besides the obvious physical health benefits, water polo can also improve social, mental, and emotional well-being. Through these two weeks, students will have the chance to make new friends, develop deeper bonds, and gain a better understanding of water polo.
Lessons will be conducted for a total of two weeks, and will run from September 30th to October 4th, after school; and October 7th to October 11th, with a choice between two different time sessions. Please refer to the flyer for specific information.
The water polo and swim team members swim instructors, and coaches will be assisting with teaching and supervision. All funds raised from this project will go towards the swim team.
