See behind-the-scenes with From the Top!
From the Top is pleased to invite a limited number of youth and families to see behind-the-scenes of NPR’s From the Top with Host Christopher O’Riley by attending a working dress rehearsal on Wednesday, November 30 at 2:00pm at the Lunalilo Center – Kamehameha School. Following the full walkthrough of the radio show, complete with inspiring performances and interviews with the nation’s top young musicians, guests will be welcomed to stay and meet the young performers.
Due to space limitations, only 40 seats will be offered. Please note the dress rehearsal may last up to 2.5 hours and guests need to remain silent for much of that time. We find this event is most suitable for youth ages 8 and up and request that chaperones be in attendance with small children. RSVP to Mindy Cimini at mcimini@fromthetop.org by Monday, Nov. 21 to reserve your spot!
This event is free of charge.

Holding Up the Universe by Jennifer Niven – “Everyone thinks they know Libby Strout….But no one’s taken the time to look past her weight to get to know who she really is. Following her mom’s death, she’s been picking up the pieces in the privacy of her home, dealing with her heartbroken father and her own grief….Everyone thinks they know Jack Masselin, too. Yes, he’s got swagger, but he’s also mastered the impossible art of giving people what they want, of fitting in. What no one knows is that Jack has a newly acquired secret: he can’t recognize faces….Until he meets Libby. When the two get tangled up in a cruel high school game—which lands them in group counseling and community service—Libby and Jack are both pissed, and then surprised. Because the more time they spend together, the less alone they feel. . . . Because sometimes when you meet someone, it changes the world, theirs and yours.”
