James Rumford is visiting KS on Poʻahā, 22 Pepeluali to speak with haumāna and kumu about his passion for writing and drawing. Come and check out our display in CRBLC and his books written in both English and Hawaiian to get a glimpse of this talented writer and artist. Be on the lookout for incentive questions that will encourage you to learn more about ‘Anakala James before his arrival.
CRBLC Movie of the Week:

Finley’s only retreat is the Everwood, a forest kingdom that exists in the pages of her notebook. Until she discovers the endless woods behind her grandparents’ house and realizes the Everwood is real—and holds more mysteries than she’d ever imagined, including a family of pirates that she isn’t allowed to talk to, trees covered in ash, and a strange old wizard living in a house made of bones.
With the help of her cousins, Finley sets out on a mission to save the dying Everwood and uncover its secrets. But as the mysteries pile up and the frightening sadness inside her grows, Finley realizes that if she wants to save the Everwood, she’ll first have to save herself.”
Middle School Sports:
Golf: Practice starts Feb. 6 – practices will be on Tues. and Thurs. from 3:30-5:00 at Hilo Municipal Golf Course. Transportation provided to the Muni. Parents need to pick up at the Muni after practice. Please leave your golf clubs in Mrs. Ah Chongʻs room on practice days.
Boys Basketball:
