Meets credit for U.S. History graduation requirement This U.S. History course focuses on the power of media as a method of expressing both written and visual language. This class covers how key events in America were critically affected by various methods of communication from newspapers, film, and radio to television and social media. Students will have the opportunity to learn about the evolution of the media throughout its history. In addition, students will analyze the power of journalists to influence U.S. society, helping to shape America’s development. Examining the impact of media, students will also discover how American
individuals and groups utilized mass media to further their goals and interests.

A research project will be completed to enhance student’s critical thinking and writing skills. This course will be reading and writing intensive.
