Hoʻomaikaʻi to our final Newbery competitors for 2019: Emily Hora, Connor Gonzalez, Lucas Kay-Wong, Moani Shimose, and Vivian Kau. They will be competing in a statewide competition at the Hapuna Beach Prince Resort. The rest of our Newbery team will also be joining us on April 23-24 in order to cheer on our finalists.

There will be no meeting this week at lunch. Mrs. Helm and Mrs. Lee look forward to meeting with you next week Friday, March 1

KS alumnus and writer Lehua Parker is coming to KS in February. She will be offering awesome reading and writing workshops, so if you’re interested in attending, sign up with your ELA teacher. Hurry because slots are limited.

Starting next week, win ‘Oi Kelakela dollars by answering questions posted in the bulletin about Aunty Lehua and her Niuhi Shark Saga Trilogy. If you haven’t read any of her books, borrow them from CRBLC. Earn bonus dollars for checking them out and book talking them with Mrs. Helm.

Be on the lookout for other exciting activities happening throughout February to prepare for Aunty Lehua’s arrival.

Our Lost and Found cart is growing!! Please stop by and check it out if you have lost anything this Trimester. Anything left by the end of the Trimester will be donated

After school building hours:

-Between 2:40 and 2:50 pm (1:40 and 1:50 pm on Wednesdays), students are allowed to remain in the buildings only if they are using the restroom or visiting with a teacher during Office Hours.

-After 2:50 pm (1:50 pm on Wednesdays), students are only allowed in Keʻeaumoku Nui to use the restrooms after asking permission from a teacher/staff member. Students should not be loitering in Kekelakekeuokalani or Kamākaʻimoku after 2:50 pm (1:50 pm on Wednesdays).
