Life, Liberty, Happiness (LLH) Vocabulary List #1

Print out the worksheet: LLH Learning Diagram Horizontal. Write a short definition and illustrate each term in the list, located here: LLH Vocab 1.

Learning Diagrams are due on 11/18 (even) and 11/19 (odds).

Chains Discussion Questions

Read up to page 23 by 11/17 (odd) and 11/18 (even). Number and place skinny post-its to mark spots in the text that help answer these questions:

  1. What are life, liberty, and happiness to you?
  2. What were life, liberty, and happiness to characters from different backgrounds in the  book?
  3. What restrictions and/or freedoms did characters from different backgrounds in Chains experience?

Be sure your post-its have the number of the question, so you can show your smarts and say, “About number two… on page 17, there is an example of liberty for so-and-so…”

ePortfolio Entry for Social Studies

  • Set up your ePortfolio by following the tutorial (if you have not yet done this in advisory).
  • Read about the 21st century skills of communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and/or creativity in the ePortfolio. These will be your measure of being good and industrious.
  • Choose and reflect on your evidence of being good and industrious in Social Studies class. Only make one slide, for the hola papa when you have Social Studies!
  • Check my sample and rubric; this is a graded formative assignment.
  • Whether you printed your kīhei or worked on this in class, it is due on Thursday 11/12 (even) or Friday, 11/13 (odd).
  • Turn in a link or a legible screenshot of your slide through Google Classroom.
