Informational Writing Through Real Experiences

Aunty Charmie came to school to help the keiki learn how to make sushi! Here is what we wrote as a class, using our informational writing rubric, after our sushi making experience.
Making Sushi
We are learning how to make sushi. First we made the sauce. Second, we put nori on the plate. We put rice on half of the nori. Then we put crab, sauce, cucumber and avocado on it. We rolled it into a cone. This is important to us because we learned how people make sushi and what tools/utensils people use to make it.
The recipe: Nori, rice, cucumber, avocado
Regular Sauce: 1/2 cup mayo, 1 tsp shoyu, 1 tsp sesame oil
Spicy Sauce: same as above- add siracha to taste
Put everything on half a nori and fold into a cone.
