KES Philosophy and Goals

Ke Kula Ha‘aha‘a ‘o Kamehameha ma Kapālama

Learning Philosophy

Ke Kula Ha‘aha‘a ‘o Kapālama ma Kapālama is a nurturing and dynamic community where haumāna integrate their learning with pono and na‘auao in service to their ‘ohana, kaiāulu, lāhui, and honua. Students are mākaukau to appreciate the importance of their past, understand their role in the present, and think creatively and critically to thrive in an ever changing global environment.

Teaching Philosophy

We are committed to the mission of Ke Ali‘i Pauahi as we promote the academic, spiritual, physical growth and well-being of each unique individual to become good and industrious contributors to our honua. Teachers provide a rich integrated curriculum, which values hands-on and individualized experiences in a nurturing environment. Teachers challenge students to construct meaning through deliberate dialogue and discussion whereas the children question, consider multiple perspectives, problem solve and innovate. Together teachers and students use assessment data to reflect upon.
