The First Hawaiians: Exploring Seeds

Making more connections to the mala, the kinder keiki explored the ways plants first came to our islands through wind, water and animals.  Rotating through centers your children moved seeds of different weights and sizes using air forces and water currents.  They also observed and drew about the kolea, who are now present on our grounds and afforded the viewing opportunity.

December Huaka’i

The kinder keiki spread the holiday cheer visiting the radio stations and Hilo Adult Day Care Center this week.  We learned  a bit about how the radio station works and were given the opportunity to be on air!  Then we sang carols and gave ornaments to the elderly- who clearly enjoyed our aloha spirit!!

We sat down to enjoy our feast- Hawaiian style!  Mahalo to Kumu Noe and Kumu Shonnie for their kokua as well!
