We had fun and even a little bit of sun for our yearly swim class for P.E. at the pool. Mahalo to all the ‘ohana who were able to kokua!

A few highlights of our week include a second visit from Chris a student with the mission to plant a million ‘ohia trees. He came earlier to talk to the keiki about the importance of caring for our natural resources. On Thursday he brought two trees that were planted outside of the science classroom. Your children helped to bless them and will continue to learn about these and other native plants in the second grade year.
We also wished Makamae a happy birthday!

Maika‘i Lansyn and Nylessia for being pono and focused during the month of March!

What an awesome day we had on April 5th! So many rich experiences that tied in with our social studies and Merry Monarch week in Hilo! We are so grateful to the ‘ohana who helped chaperone us and set up some of our events. Mahalo Aunty Lucillle for sharing her Laupahoehoe story, making us connect to that place in such a deep and meaningful way! Enjoy pictures and videos of our day.

Mahalo to Mrs. Rosehill for setting us up with a fun afternoon of drawing with chalk on our sidewalk! There were smiles and creativity, sharing and companionship aplenty on Wednesday afternoon. Enjoy a glimpse at the first graders in action and the images they created to the theme of Hamakua.

Our February Haweo award went to Wyatt and Isabella! Well done in having and kind and positive attitude and getting your school kuleana done!
The second trimester Hawaiian award for demonstrating pilina went to Ka‘ōiwi and Lucas. Maika‘i!

Enjoy Ka‘ōiwi, Kayana, Serenity, Skye and Kalukalani as they share their dance skills!
