The Gospel of John movie part 1
The Gospel of John movie part 2
Junior Chapel Team and Chapel Team Members,
Stay close to God by reading His word. Read the gospel of John and write a reflection on each chapter. Put the date before each journal entry and share what you are learning. Did you have any insights about God or Jesus? Did you have any connections or questions? How can you apply what you learned to your life? It doesn’t need to be a long journal entry and you can use any notebook you already have or you can do it on the computer and print it out before school begins. I will also be reading and journaling along with you. You may share your mana‘o on this page so others may be encouraged by what God is teaching you. Bring your journals to our first meeting in August: Junior Chapel Team begins on 8/14 and Chapel Team begins on 8/16. Have a Son-filled summer! <3! Kahu Ann
Some possible reflections:
Chapter 1 – The Word became flesh; John the Baptist points to the Lamb of God; Jesus calls the disciples.
John 1:9-13 (Jesus came to earth and His own people did not recognize or accept Him. Lord, open the eyes of our hearts so we may see and honor You.) “The true light, who gives light to everyone, was coming into the world. He was in the world, and the world was created through Him, yet the world did not recognize Him.He came to His own, and His own people did not receive Him.“
Chapter 2 – The wedding at Cana, Jesus’ first miracle, Cleansing the Temple – Why did Jesus not trust the people? What did He see in their hearts?
Chapter 3: Nicodemus was hungry for God. What did Jesus mean when He said, “No one can see the kingdom of God unless he is born again. You must be born of the water and the Spirit?” Why do people love the darkness more than the light?
Chapter 4: What happened to the woman at the well? What did Jesus say to her that changed her?
Chapter 5: Why did the Jewish leaders refuse to come to Jesus and have life?
Chapter 6: What does God want us to do?
Chapter 7: Why did the Jewish religious leaders want to kill Jesus?
Chapter 8: Why did Jesus not judge and stone the woman caught in adultery? Who did Jesus say is the father of the Jewish religious leaders?
Chapter 9: What was the reason that Jesus gave on why the man was born blind?
Chapter 10: Jesus is our good Shepherd and those who trust in Him are His sheep.
Chapter 11: ” Jesus told her, ‘I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in Me, even though they die like everyone else, will live again. They are given eternal life for believing in Me and will never perish. Do yo believe this?’”
Chapter 12:34 Jesus did so many miracles and many people still did not believe in Him. Why?
Chapter 13:34-35 “So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other. Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”
Chapter 14:6 “ Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Chapter 14:23-24 ” Jesus answered him, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep my word, and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him. Whoever does not love Me does not keep My words.
Chapter 15: How can we show the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control?
Chapter 16:9 “The world’s sin is that it refuses to believe in Me.”
Chapter 17:3 “And what is eternal life? It is knowing You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent.” So when does eternal life begin?
Chapter 18:11 “Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shouldn’t I drink the cup of suffering the Father has given me?” (It was God’s will for Jesus to suffer so we could be forgiven for our sins.)
Chapter 19: A number of Old Testament prophecies concerning Jesus’ death are fulfilled in this chapter.
Chapter 20:30-31 ” Jesus performed many other signs in the presence of His disciples that are not written in this book. But these are written so that you may believe Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and by believing you may have life in His name.” (The gospel of John was written so we might believe and trust in Jesus.)
Chapter 21: What were Jesus’ last instructions to Peter? Are they our instructions too?

I learned that because of Abraham obeying God that God blessed Abraham didn’t have to SACRIFIFCE his son he sacrificed the ram. I learn if you obey God you shall live a righteous life and if you follow the 10 commandments you shall go back to heaven and live with our heavenly father again. He will be waiting for you.
Youʻre watching the videos! Yes, Abraham believed God and obeyed Him. When we trust in Jesus, who paid the price for ALL of our sins, we will be pono with God, the Father. I cannot live a righteous life and follow the 10 Commandments on my own. I need Godʻs power and when I fail, and I do, I have Godʻs wonderful forgiveness! (1 John 1:9)
I learned that the serpent was like a lizard at first, but after disobeying God, He cursed the serpent to have no legs, and be forced to wiggle around as a snake. I didn’t quite understand what God meant when He said he was sorry he created the people who did not worship and pray to him, doesn’t he love everyone? I was also wondering if Noah’s family was the only family that was good, so God flooded the whole earth, or if he flooded only that section.
Hi Keani, so happy to see you on my blog. Good questions . . . look for the answers in Genesis, go on a treasure hunt. Share what you find. Exciting!

I ment chapel team sorry.
When are we going to be able to get the application for chapel team I watched all the bible stories already .
I will pass out the application forms in April and you will find out before school ends. Yeah! Kahu Ann
Yes, every year the Israelites brought an animal as a sacrifice for their sins. Today, we do not need to do that because God gave His Son, Jesus, the Lamb of God, to be the perfect sacrifice for our sins. Thank you Lord!
I am so happy that I made it in to chapel team. I will promise that i will try my hardest and focus.
Mai ka‘i no! <3, Kahu Ann

Aloha kahu Ann,
I’m reading the book of johns but it is kind of sad because all of the Jews are losing faith in Jesus. Some people still had faith but a lot of people wanted to kill or arrest Jesus. I am happy to be learning more about Jesus. Thank you for giving me this opportunity!
Have a great summer!
Wow Devin, mai ka‘i! What chapters are you reading so we can track with your mana‘o. Keep drawing closer to Jesus! <3! Kahu Ann

Hi Kahu,
I read John Chapter 2 and wasn’t that Jesus’s 1st miracle. I remember you telling us that story. I hope you are having a wonderful summer! I am! I was wondering…what does Kahu mean? I also ask you to pray for me. I am going to florida on June 17th (a day before my birthday) and can you pray for safe keeping for me and my mom. I ask for you to also pray for us when we go to California too. Thank you Kahu Ann for all you have done and taught us. Have a GR8 summer… <3
Hi Jordyn, I just prayed for you and your mom’s trip. When you return, tell us all about it. Kahu means a caretaker, guardian, pastor, etc. Keep reading John. Mai ka‘i! <3! Kahu Ann
Hi caretaker or guardian,
I hope you are having a great summer. Thank you for all that you have done for us. As I read John, it is really familiar like you have told us this story long ago. I love reading these stories because it has taught me so many knew things in life and trusting in GOD.
Have a safe and relaxing summer, I miss you.
<3 Jordyn
Aloha e Jordyn! Keep seeking Jesus in the Bible. Keep growing! <3! Kahu Ann
I will continue to read the bible and I made a hula for the song “blessed”, maybe when we come back to school I can show it to you some time.
Happy Summer!!
Hi kahu ann. I was wondering what church you go to or if you have any suggestions on good churches. Right now my family is looking for a new church. We are trying to find a church that talks about the end times . Thank you:)
Lauren-Chapel Team
Hi Lauren,
I go to New Hope Sand Island with Pastor Dom Ka‘aihue. Calvary Chapel churches talk about the End Times and they teach from the Bible. There are several on the island. <3, Kahu Ann
Hi kahu,
We are allowed to put our reflections up on your blog right?!?
