Thank you those of you who have shared your thoughts on Freak the Mighty.  I have enjoyed reading your thoughts on the book.  We share many of the same ideas!

Homework:

1.  Read Freak the Mighty chapters 10-14.

2.  Complete 1 Reading Plus Session, 1 PAVE and 1 Guided Reading, by Sunday, 8/19.

Have a fabulous weekend!!  Blog me with your thoughts on Freak the Mighty.  I’m loving the book!  Freak is such an interesting character and I love how he and Max care about each other in such a unique and personal way.

2.  Write 1 paragraph about your favorite character and include three supporting details from the text to validate your choice.

3.  Sign and return the Class Syllabus by Monday, 8/13.

We had a fabulous first day of school as all the students met their kumu, figured out how to fit everything in their lockers, navigated the campus in search of all of their classes, and met new friends!

Be on the look out for our English Course Syllabus and check your child’s planner to see what is coming up and what daily homework assignments they should be working on.

We will be reading Freak the Mighty, an endearing book about two middle school boys, each with his own unique differences and similarities, and how they forge a friendship built around trust and kindness, while overcoming individual challenges.

This FRIDAY completed Reading Plus logs are due with a RP print out.  Circle all your sessions that are 70% or better to ensure that all sessions on print out and log match.

Turn in to me by Friday.  NO late logs will be accepted.  Log is worth 20pts.
