Swimming Anyone?

We were blessed with great weather for the lower elementary swim sessions this year. Mahalo ke akua. Grades K,one and two enjoyed their time at Nae’ole Pool this month. Each of the classes got into the pool to explore and experience the water. We were able to have the students perform some introductory water skills as well as spend some time with staff, teachers, parents outside of the classroom.

Swimming is an important strand in our K-12 P.E. curriculum. I encourage all parents to make those opportunities for your child to get formal instruction and to get them into the water. This summer there are several community options, sometimes free or sometimes for a fee.

Swimming is an important life saving and health enhancing activity for all ages. Learning to swim is very important to for all keiki who live in an island environment.

Mahalo nui to all who support and kokua to make this happen each year. Parents, teachers, E.A.’s, other staff, Administration, Nae’ole Pool Lifeguards and anyone who directly or indirectly enables the keiki to swim.
