In light of the story of Joseph (found in the book of Genesis), how would you respond to someone who wondered why Ke Akua would allow tragedies to happen?

God has a plan for all of us. sometimes we might not understand why tragedies happen when they do. But we just have to trust and have faith that God has a plan for us and keep going. And those times build faith.

God lets tragedies happen so we can learn from them, even if we donʻt really understand why these things happen there is always gonna be a reason for Gods actions. For example, Joesph was sold to slavery by his family but even after that he forgave them. We need to trust in God and never doubt him.

Sometimes our tragedies shapes us into a better person. God is putting us in the Iron forge not to make us worse but to make us better. Its all apart of the greater plan.

It is because when we face trials we understand we need the Lord and it causes us to have faith and put trust in him but it also teaches you things and trials can make you change and be a better person

I would tell them that God is putting us through these challenges and these obstacles so that we can learn from them and grow as a person. The hardships he puts us through is a part of his plan that he has for us.

Joseph got sold to slavery by his brothers but yet forgave them. God let everything bad happen because he knows that we don’t live in a perfect world. There will be mistakes and we will have to get past them.

I would respond to them by saying that God is trying the best he can and he is urging us (the people) to take a stand and do something to fix the problem.

Joseph got sold to slavery by his brothers but yet forgave him. God let tradigeis happen because I think that if everybody becomes perfect and there are no tradigies then it will never work out. Meaning everyone one is the same and no one can be different.

My response to someone who wondered why ke Akua allowed tragedies to happen would be everything happens for a reason. Even if it affects you in a negative way, God has a plan for you. Maybe it will affect you in a positive way later on in life. God could be testing us to see if we stay faithful to him even if times are tough. Stay faithful to God, everything happens for a reason.

If somebody was to ask me that question I would tell them that the tragedies that happen are always to teach us something important or to help us with our lives later on or to bring us closer to God himself. He does this because if life was always easy we would start to take things for granted. One thing we would take for granted would be God himself and he doesn’t want that so he would take things away and see if we still praise him to help us get closer to God and he sometimes would reinstate us if it is possible.

I would respond by saying: think of all the things Ke Akua has given you, he has given you many blessing hasn’t he? Think about past “tragedies” what is the effect now in your life? Was it really a tragedy? Or behind it all, it was actually for the better, it may have looked like it in that moment, but in all reality Ke Akua was setting you up for something great. Ke Akua has a plan for each and everyone of us, even though he puts us into situations were you think is the end, or things are just not in your favor, thats when you just need to stop breath, and look at everything. meaning that, don’t look for the negative look for the positive, with positive is life, negative thoughts and actions won’t get you any further then were you are now.Ke Akua put you in situations only if he thinks you can handle it, remember that….

When we experience tragedy, the fist thing we say is WHY, It’s not fair. But to me tragedy is Ke Akua (God) testing us. Will we get through it or give up? Sometimes a tragedy is a gift in disguise. It might bring a family closer or make you appreciate what you have. Like they say God will only give you what you can handle.

I would respond saying that God has a plan for you. Everything that happens is all part of it so just trust him.

    Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.

Ke Akua would allow tragedies to happen because he has a plan for us that we may not know and we may not understand, in Jeremiah 29:11 it says “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

I would explain that Ke Akua creates or lets tragedies happen because he is just trying to make us learn how to make the best from them. He gives us these tragedies in our life so we can grow from them and become one with faith. Everything that he throws at us is part of his plan for us in the future.

I think God would allow tragedies to happen because he wants to test us on our loyalty to him and how much we love him enough to trust in him that this certain thing has happened for a reason. God doesn’t cause these things to happen he just allows it. I would tell this person that he allows this to happen because he wants to know how much you love him and would trust in him with all their heart, body, mind and soul.

God puts people through tragedies for a life lesson for better purposes, and at the same time it teaches all those around to be mindful of the things that can happen, and it teaches them that things may happen to better themselves and become stronger within emotional and physical personalities. Tragedies will show you how to love more and be thankful for all the things you have before they are gone. This is my manaʻo on this question.

God allows tragedies to happen because he wants us to make mistakes and then ask for forgiveness. All he really wants is for us to believe in him and love him and trust him because he created us and loves us as well. He also didn’t create this Earth for destruction but humans brought destruction here so it is our problem to deal with.

I think that God lets things happen for a reason. I think that some things that happen maybe lead up to something bigger. Some things that can be bad may turn into something better. So even if you think that its really bad at the time, that bad decision might leave a door open for something really good to happen. I don’t think that God means for it to be a bad event in your life but maybe you have to have a loss before you have a win. I think thats why God lets tragedies to happen.

I would tell that person that God does not create tragedies, and he does not enforce them to happen. It’s true that he did create the potential for evil to enter the world, because that was the only way to create the potential for genuine goodness and love. But it was human beings, in our free will, who brought that potential evil into reality. So therefore, tragedies do not happened in Gods Hands, but instead from us humans.

I think Ke Akua would allow tragedies to happen because it teaches the person a lesson. From the tragedies it teaches the person to change what they did wrong and to fix it so it won’t happen again. I think Ke Akua wants us to learn from our mistakes.

That everything he does happens for a reason. And that your will soon understand everything when it is time. You canʻt exactly explain what he does and why he does it. The reason why all off these tragedies are happening is because of one simple privilege he gave us. Which is called, “Freedom of choice.” Freedom of choice is what lets us make our own choices/decisions.

He would allow all of the tragedies to happen so that his believers would keep praying to him. Praying to Jesus himself would give the people hope and a better life.

I would talk to the person about how God gave us the chance to be sinless, but Eve decided to eat the one fruit she was told not to. God isn’t punishing us for our sins, in fact God wants us to repent for our sins and sometimes tragic things happen, not as a punishment, but as an offering to Him.

Although we donʻt understand why bad things happen to people who donʻt deserve it, we have to put our trust in God and believe he has a bigger plan.

Ke Akua would allow tragedies to happen because he wants us to learn from them. If everything was perfect, then we wouldn’t understand how much we have. We need to learn from these things so that in the future everything will be better. He makes us understand that we aren’t perfect and humans make mistakes. This also set up for a series of events to happen. In the end, everything turned out well. If Joseph didn’t become a slave then in a position of power, the people in Egypt might of died from the famine if Joseph didn’t devise a plan. Even though things may seem bad at the time, there is a bigger plan in the end. Sometimes we don’t see the blessing of things even if it’s right there in our face.

God can allow bad things to happen to good people in order to teach them lessons. He might also want to discipline them, and encourage them to depend on Him. We must believe that He allows bad things to happen because they are according to His plan, and it will all work out for good. God also allows good things to happen to bad people so the question can go both ways.

God lets bad things happen to people who seem undeserving of them because God allows things to happen for his reasons, even if it doesn’t make sense. But we must remember that God is good and often things that happen to us that we cant comprehend so instead of doubting God’s goodness, it is our responsibility to trust him.

Just like how Joseph got sold to slavery by his brothers, he still forgave them. I think that God lets tragedies happen because he knows that we will work it out, forgive each other and come to unity.
