Check the Basics
Make sure WI_FI is turned on & connected to KS_WIFI & not KS-Guest
- Click the WI-FI icon in the top menu bar → KS-WIFI is on (with blue color).
Ensure you’re selecting the correct network which is KS_WIFI. All your KS accounts are based on this network.
If you’re connected to KS_Guest, that may cause a verification issue. You may want to visit your nearest Wahi Lolouila to remove it from your network list.
Restart Devices
Make it a habit to Restart your MacBook Air on a daily basis or at least every other day. If you are in different locations (lower/upper) on campus, you may want to refresh your network by restarting.
If you’re at home and having WiFi issues, restart your router/modem by unplugging it for 30 seconds to a minute, then plugging it back in. Contact your network provider if issues arise in your neighborhood disrupting service.
Check Private WiFi Address
Go to System Settings > Network > WI-FI.
Click Details (or “Advanced” on older macOS) next to your Wi-Fi network.
Ensure Private WI-FI address is set to OFF and not on fixed or rotating. You will have to visit your nearest Wahi Lolouila to reset setting to OFF.
Check Network Settings
Open System Settings > Network > WI-FI → Make sure WI-FI is green/connected.
If it says Self-Assigned IP or No IP Address, a restart may resolve the issue. If not, visit your nearest Wahi Lolouila.
Check >Known Network – Click on encircled 3 dots then on Network Settings. Your network IP address should begin with a 10.24 number. If it begins with 10.19, visit your nearest Wahi Lolouila.
Check for Software Updates
Go to System Settings > General > Software Update.
It’s very important to be up to date with your software updates. Install any pending macOS or security updates that may fix network bugs.
