Pūʻulu Olopua
The olopua symbolizes the burning desire one has to affirm their identity as an ʻōiwi Hawaiʻi (native Hawaiian). Olopua is a hard and durable wood that is dense and heavy. It is also used as a firewood and presents a hot flame even when green. The Hawaiian value associated with the olopua is ʻike pono (enduring understanding).
