Ke Ala Pono

Ke Ala Pono or to do what is right is a part of our character education program. Ke Ala Pono encompasses the behavioral expectations that staff and students are expected to follow. Students are to familiarize themselves with the Ke Ala Pono expectations.

MĀLAMA (to care for; preserve)

  • School property and facilities
  • Personal property
  • Each other with aloha (kindness), laulima (cooperation), kōkua (help), hoʻopaipai (encourage)

KULEANA (responsibilities)

  • Be prepared to ʻimi ʻike (seek knowledge)
  • Complete all assignments on time with poʻokela (excellence)
  • Maintain proper dress code

HŌʻIHI (respect)

  • Self (foster pride, in self, family, school, community)
  • Peers (safety, no put-downs, personal property)
  • Mutual (be courteous, or listen attentively, say “hello”)
