Kahaʻōpūlani: nurturing, fostering growth
Kahaʻōpūlani, was the daughter of Luahine (k) and Hikuʻikekualono (w) and sister to Kaha, the prophet who warned Keōua and Kekuʻiapoiwa (parents of Kamehameha) of chief Alapaʻi’s plans for the demise of the newborn Kamehameha. Together with her mother, Hikuʻikekualono, Kahaʻōpūlani raised the newborn Kamehameha in ʻĀwini.
Kahaʻōpūlani was known for her nurturing nature and fostering the growth of the young Kamehameha; qualities that are inherent in a Kamehameha student’s dorming experience.
