Out of Control Student/Parents

Emergency Response Guidelines violence

  • If a teacher or other Kapālama
    campus staff is unable to calm an out of control student or parent, contact the Principal, Vice-principal or designee, Kapālama
    campus security.
  • Protect students at the scene.
  • Contain unrest.  Seal off area of disturbance.
  • If further assistance is needed, support personnel at the Kapālama campus (counselors, psychologists, social workers) can be requested to talk to the student to attempt to calm him/her down.
  • Parents should be notified and asked for assistance if a student continues to be out of control.
  • If the student or parent cannot be calmed down and is a danger to their self or others, law enforcement should be contacted for assistance (9-911).
