Emergency Response Guidelines

• Remain calm.
• Notify the Security Department or 911.
• Avoid confrontation with the intruder.
• Evacuate others from the area if it safe to do.

If you are taken hostage:

• Follow instructions of hostage taker.
• Calm students if they are present.
• Treat the hostage taker as normally as possible.
• Be respectful to hostage taker.
• Ask permission to speak and do not argue or make suggestions.
