Elementary School Evacuation Indoor Assembly Areas Keku`iapoiwa Dining Hall.Kamāmalu, Basement Level: Rooms 111, 112, 109, 106, 101. Lockdown Area: Individual Classrooms. Disabled students/staff may need assistance.
Middle School Evacuation  Indoor Assembly Areas #42 Ka‘ōleiokū –Individual Classrooms#43 Keli‘maika‘i-Individual Floor-out of view of doors. Lockdown Area: Individual Classrooms. Disabled students/staff may need assistance.
High School Evacuation Indoor Assembly Areas 9-10 Ululani Hale at Ka’iwakīloumoku, Bishop Memorial Chapel, Kekūhaupi’o. 11-12  Auditorium, no area that can hold all 900 students and faculty and staff. Lockdown Area: Individual Classrooms. Disabled students/staff may need assistance.

High School Evacuation Outdoor Assembly Areas Grades 9-10

  • Paki: Across road to Maluna field.
  • Keoua:to Mauka Field/Further Evacuation to Maluna Field.
  • Bishop Hall:to Mauka Field/Further Evacuation to Maluna Field and if necessary to Koai’a parking via gate in back or roadway adjacent to stairs.
  • Kekuanaoa: to Mauka Field/Further Evacuation to Maluna Field and if necessary to Koai’a parking via gate in back or roadway adjacent to stairs.
  • P.E. Locker Rooms:  across road to lower Admin Bldg parking lot.
  • Technology Building:  Proceed down road to lower parking lot (by tennis courts).  If necessary proceed down steps to Chapel parking.
  • ‘Akahi Dining Hall:  DH side go across Girls Road to drive that leads to Kapoukahi.   If necessary go down road to steps to Chapel parking.  Ewa side proceed up steps to Konia Field.
  • Hale Koa:  Maluna Field/further evacuation to Koai’a parking via gate in back or roadway adjacent to stairs.

Grades 11-12

  • Kapoukahi (Technology) Building:  Below building to Chapel parking lot preferred, if necessary go up across upper road near ‘Akahi.  Further evacuation to Paki through Chapel or if on the upper side, to Canoe Hālau.
  • ‘Akahi Dining Hall:  roadway beside Technology Building or take stairs to Performing Arts Parking Lot.  If further evacuation necessary from Kapoukahi, proceed down stairs to Chapel parking.
  • Haleakala: Ka‘ahumanu Parking/further evacuation to Konia Field on walkway or through Konia Bldg.
  • Ka‘ahumanu:  Ka‘ahumanu parking/further evacuation to Konia Field on walkway or through the middle of Konia Bldg.
  • Konia:  Konia field/further evacuation to Performing Arts parking lots.
  • Frank E. Midkiff: Konia field/further evacuation to Performing Arts parking.
  • W. O. Smith:   Smith parking/ further evacuation to Performing Arts parking.
  • Performing Arts: parking lots on 3 levels.
  • Koai’a: Mawaena Field with further evacuation through other side of fence.
  •  Ka’iwakīloumoku: Gravel parking if empty or Reservoir driveway along sidewalk.  Further evacuation to Canoe Hālau.
  •  Chapel: Chapel Parking/further evacuation to gravel parking or reservoir driveway along sidewalk.
  •  Kekūhaupi’o: Classes should try to remain together and move out through the main exit to the parking lot.  Further evacuation will be necessary.  Groups can further evacuate down the stairs to Keawe Gym area, up towards Pauahi Bldg parking or through the parking structure going over the bridge towards Koai’a.   The roads must remain clear for use by emergency vehicles.

Middle Kapālama

Akahi Dining Hall Up to 900 students can be in the dining hall. That number will be difficult to fit into the designated area. Areas that can be isolated are rooms by office area, dishroom, food preparation area, 1st floor area (using freight elevator). Upstairs office can also be used. Under an extreme emergency, staff and students will need to fit into available space. Space may also be available in the bookstore and Student Services if there is sufficient time. Evacuations may also be possible during the lockdown through other exits in Food Services.
