Trustee Plotts with the FISH! of 5B
Trustee Plotts with the FISH! of 5BThe students in the 4th & 5th grade were honored today to ho’okipa Trustee Plotts on her farewell visit to our Kea’au campus. Trustee Plotts shared her mana’o with the students by answering an abundance of questions that the keiki thoughtfully asked. Questions that ranged from how she first got her position 10 years ago and the process she had to go through (she was one of 280 people who applied and after a long process of interviews was named by the Probate judge as a trustee) to what she would do with her time now that she will be officially retiring as a Trustee. (She plans to do a lot of golfing now). She even shared how she and the other 4 trustee were once so privileged to see Ke Ali’i Pauahi’s actual will that is stored in the archives. She said it was one of the most memorable times as a trustee as well as a “chicken skin moment!” She ended her talk story time with all of us by saying, ” I hope that one day some of you will also have the privilege of being a trustee.” The haumana sang a beautiful song led by Kumu Silva and Trustee Plotts was on her way to enjoy the ono lunch in our dining hall. She even sat with the haumana. Mahalo for all that you did for the children on Kamehameha Schools! Imua and may your swing be strong and your putting be perfect! A Hui Hou Trustee Plotts!
