Morning Meeting- Sharing Component

The FISH! of 5B have been working on the sharing component for our Morning Meetings in class.  We call it our “Mana’o o ka lå” (Thought of the day).  Two students a day have been volunteering to share their thoughts while the rest of the class intently listen and practice the proper way to ask a question to learn more  & also to be great audience members.  The students choose what they want to share with the class and so far, we have had sharing about family fun times, how great memories bind us together…even way back to Kindergarten memories, even how we should be “pono” to say what we really mean, and how we can choose to change our attitude to improve.

We know that every voice in class is important and we work hard to provide each teammate the opportunity to share and feel valued!  We’ll continue to have discussions on sharing and how to make it a great learning experience for all.  We’ve discussed how even if most of us have been together from Kindergarten and we know a lot about each other, there is always something new to learn because we are always growing and changing.  Our sharing is voluntary and we hope to have every team member feel comfortable enough to do so.   Let the “sharing” continue!  Swim Strong Ka’u I’a!  One Team, One Heart, One World!  We can help to be the change we want to see in our world! 🙂
