Happy Thanksgiving!

Aloha mai kākou,

I would like to take this time to say how blessed and thankful I am to be a part of this great 5B ohana.  Student led conferences were great, I had the opportunity to meet ohana and to renew old friendships with those I already met at open house.  The students did a great job of sharing what they have learned so far, pointing out their strengths and areas where they would like to work on.  Parents were so supportive and positive too!

Now that thanksgiving is upon us, let us all remember to count our many blessings big or little, at school, at our homes, in our communities, and our world.  There are so many things to be grateful for.  Count all your blessings.

We are all truly fortunate that Ke Ali’i Pauahi many years ago had a vision to help her people strive to thrive.  Wishing you all a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving filled with a lot of good food,  good friends & family, and good fun!  Enjoy your time together.

Here are some words that you may find useful for the holiday!

pelehū ‘oma: roasted turkey;  ‘uala ho’owali ‘ia: mashed potato   hame:  ham;

pai pala’ai: pumpkin pie;   pōmaika’i: blessings   ho’omaika’i: give thanks;

Aloha lā Ho’omaika’i: Happy Thanksgiving!…and To All A Good Night! (Oops, wrong holiday!)  See ya all on Monday!
