A Healthy Transition

Have you ever been nervous or anxious about a change that is coming? The freshman health classes know first hand how it feels transitioning from middle school to high school and all the things that come with that experience.

A senior, Tiari Carreira decided it was important as well and made it her Senior Legacy to have a health fair to share information with our kula ha’a,ha’a fifth graders to help make their transition a healthy one. With the help of all health classes, teachers and the community, Tiari coordinated and planned a great health fair for our students on April 12, 2013. This was our first ever for our own students at kula ha’a ha’a and they loved it!

There were skits, a special song and podcast presentation. Several seniors shared their legacy projects, student health displays, as well as community presentations from Hui Mālama Na O’iwi and the Department of Health.

It was a very enlightening and fun day and the students in Mrs. Pai’s class shared their slam poems that were awesome. Please feel free to add comments to this blog entry; I am sure the high school students would like to hear your manaʻo.
