Honolulu-born Kathleen Kam studied at the Honolulu Academy of Arts and the University of Hawai‘i before relocating to Hilo where she has lived for over 30 years. A “deep appreciation for the natural land and resources” of the islands is what fuels Ms. Kam’s work. Her accomplishments include being an award-winning artist, art competition juror, master gourd carver, book illustrator, teacher, and workshop presenter.
