In this day and age of “fake news”, “alternative truths” and the dismissal of “facts” for “stories”, how important is it to still tell the truth? “Thou shalt not lie” is one of the original Ten Commandments. How important is it to still keep and follow? Why or why not?

I think that itʻs important to tell the truth because lying doesn’t get anyone anywhere. In todays society lying is a very popular thing going on right now. Itʻs can be hard to figure out if someones telling you the truth or telling you lies. So it is important that we tell the truth, even if itʻs gonna hurt or makes things better because in the end when people find out you were lying its just gonna hurt more and cause a lot more problems.
I believe it’s important, to tell the truth because being honest is the best thing you can do to gain someones trust. And telling the truth is always the right thing to do.
I believe that it’s very important to tell the truth. Especially nowadays with social media, it’s quite common for people to lie. So just being able to prove yourself different from most by being truthful is honorable by itself. Being able to live you life and not be affected by lies others might spread (whether it’s about you or not) as well as just not lying in general is something that people find appealing. You never know, a lie that you could think is minuscule could change someone else’s life for better or worse (most likely the latter). It is very important to tell the truth since it is a commandment breaking a commandment knowingly is very hurtful to the Lord and is a form of showing disrespect to the Lord since you don’t obey him
I think that being truthful is a very important thing that everyone should apply in our everyday lives. In this day and age there are many truthful, as well as untruthful sources in information. Lies could hurt people, lies can breed guilt and destroy trust. It is important to follow that commandment so you don’t hurt others and so you can please God by obeying his word.
