Jesus said,
“You are the light of the world…Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”
(Matthew 5:14a, 16 NIV)

Explain what this means for you personally and how it affects the way you live your life.

This scripture, to me, personally means that by being kind, loving, and caring you can influence others to do good deeds. God has thought me to show and give others love, kindness, and care and I shall receive the same. I can use this scripture in my life by shining me light to others so that they will see the good.

To me it means that when Jesus says “you are the light of the world” he means that we as Christians are the light and we should bear fruit so that others may see the love of God through are life which in return glorifys the father. It affects the way I live my life because when people see a person like that they want to seek a council with that person when they do seek it and ask questions Ill make sure to answer them correctly and do my research and it gives me an opportunity to share the gospel.

I interpret this quote from the bible as saying that god has created us in our own individually, unique way. Therefore he has given each of us traits that are far extraordinary from others, those traits are what he wants us to establish and show to others. I can also take this as if god has given you a talent such as in a specific sport or in academics, it is your responsibility to show others your talent in a humble way. Do not hide the talents god has blessed us with, because that is a sin. When we do show our talents, he will be happy. But not just talents, it could be our kindness or our skills-intellectually, or leadership etc.

I feel that this verse means that you should show God and everybody else why you’re in this world and why God created you, to show a purpose in life. Personally this relates to me because in the summer I worked really hard for football and somehow I made in onto the Varsity team. I continued to work very hard during the season showing coach that I want to play in the game. Soon enough I played in games in front of at least 100 people catching the ball and even started against the best football school on Maui (Lahainaluna).

To me, this verse means that whatever you do, your actions or your thoughts, they all resemble God. So if you make bad choices and wrong actions, it will downgrade or humiliate God. So I try to make good choices and think more about my actions or what I say so that I can glorify God and make Him proud.

To me this verse means that you are who you are, nobody else can be you or do what you do. Show others what you’ve learned about God, and spread his love and what he’s capable of and prove to them that he is always there for you.

To me this verse means that I am something good in this world, it is my job to do good and help others. This affects my life because I need to go out and help others, do good things, and make God proud. I also need to remember that in everything I do, I should do it remembering God and thanking him for the many blessings he gives me.

What this means personally to me is that I should show love, kindness, and compassion towards everyone. I should treat everyone the same way with God’s love for us. I need to do his will for me and not my will but his alone. This scripture shows that our life as Christians should make Non- Christians question their belief. When people see me I want them to think wow that girl has God in her life, and I would want them to turn Jesus and admit that he is the Lord and Savior of our lives.

This verse from Matthew 5:14a says that you should always be nice to others even if they aren’t nice back. To me it means that you should respect your elders, parents, friends and to also respect God. And if you do these things, great things will happen to you over time. (Like going to heaven)
    Thanks for reading my mana’o.
