My Multimedia Class made plaster masks of themselves and then used the zentangle drawing technique on top of them after they were dried and varnished. Tips: Smear the face with lots of vaseline, especially the eyebrows and lashes, use three layers of plaster wrap, and have students be very still when they are getting plaster wrap applied to them! Optional was to paint a light acrylic wash over the already drawn on face.
