Robotics Laboratory

[KHO1193 (Alt 9, 10, 11, 12)] (cross-listed with Technology and Business)

Year, Prerequisite: Electronics is recommended (concurrent enrollment is acceptable).  This is an enrichment course and may NOT be used to satisfy the science graduation requirement.

The Robotics Laboratory an introductory course to the world of robotics for those who want to explore innovative ways of problem-solving and engineering. This introductory course will allow students to get a hands-on approach to engineering and apply physics knowledge (mechanics & electricity), mathematics, logic, computer programming skills, and develop an innovative problem-solving process. Students will engage in the use of simple machines, sensors, motor controllers, wireless remote controls, design-build documentation, and more.  Students will compete and propose solutions to various robotic and S.T.E.M. based competitions and fabricate engineered designs.

This course is primarily a hands-on, project-based course.  As an introductory laboratory class, all of the equipment, manufacturing, and programming happens in the school.  The students will excel in the design and engineering process while programming the robots and collaborating in groups on solutions to challenging design problems.”
