Biology (Summer School)

In person.  For current Kamehameha students.  Tuition: $400

Prerequisite: Concurrent enrollment in Core Algebra, Algebra 1A or
1B. Open to Grades 9-12.

This is an introductory biology course for students who desire a general
knowledge of biology and the natural world. The course covers the following
major themes: biochemistry, cell biology, genetics, evolution, biodiversity,
ecology, sustainability and conservation, and is designed to integrate local and global issues in the biological sciences. Students are given opportunities to perform laboratory exercises that demonstrate properties of biological systems and explore biological concepts. They will also conduct experiments, analyze data, and communicate their findings. Additionally, students will be involved in activities to help them recognize their connection and kuleana to the ‘āina.
