Happy Girls’ Day!

Well, it’s almost March, and that means that we’re going to the Big Island soon.  Honuamea is on the Big Island right now.  Keep yourself healthy, so you’ll be ready for our Huaka’i.  At the end of this cycle, we have our Ke Ala Pono Assembly for this quarter, and we’ll be learning about registering for middle school.  On April 15 we will be going to a nursing home and sharing our talents with them.  If you would like to be in our talent show, please see me to sign up.  Each participant will earn pono points for their pu’ulu.

Day 1, Mon., Feb. 24, 2014

Today I passed back the Checkpoint Quiz 2 and we went over some of the problems.  We also finished our Ch. 7 centers.

Homework:  Sign Checkpoint Quiz 2; Study for Ch. 7 Test  Due Day 2 (2/25)

Day 2, Tues., Feb. 25, 2014

Today I checked for the Checkpoint Quiz 2 parent signatures, and we put them in your Math portfolio.  If you want to do a redo test, be sure to turn it in with the corrections.  We are also taking our Ch. 7 test.

Homework:  No New Homework!

Day 3, Wed., Feb. 26, 2014

Today we will finish our Ch. 7 test, and talk about our Land Lineage Project.

Day 4, Thurs., Feb. 27, 2014

Today I collected the bottom part of the signed parent letter, and we watched a video about the land lineage of Kamehameha Schools.

Today I will collect your land video notes.  Also, we will calculate the fraction, decimal, and percent of land that the ali’i who eventually gave their land to Pauahi had.

Today we will check Strategy #5.  This will be our last Math Olympics practice before our last Math Olympics on Mar. 17.  We will also work on our Land Lineage posters and talk about our state motto.

Day La No’ono’o, Tues., Mar. 4, 2014

No Math today!  Today we will have Ke Ala Pono, and we will have an assembly about middle school registration.

Extra Pono Points:  Did you memorize your Ko’u Mo’oku’auhau, Na Kini Pua Lei Mamo Hawai’i, and Pauahi’s Mo’oku’auhau?  If not, what is your plan to memorize it before Mar. 10?

  1. i did not memorize everything so i plan to look at it more often and to memorize/practice it to know by mind. Ill remember it.

  2. I memorized all the names part of my mookuauhau but not the ending or the beginning part. I plan to practice almost everyday until I get it 100%. And I memorized Na Kini Pua Lei Mamo Hawaii.

  3. I memorized Na Kini Pua Lei Mamo Hawaii, all of the names for my Ko’u Mo’okuauhau, and most of the names for Pauahi’s Mo’okuauhau. I will practice the beginnings and endings of both Mo’okuauhaus each day at least for 15 min until I know them by heart! 😉

  4. I memorized most of Na kini Pua Lei Mamo Hawai‘i. I didnʻt memorize all of my Ko’u Mo’oku’auhau but I am going to practice it.
