Ho’omaika’i to 5B Lamakü Semifinalists!

As you may know, the students have been working hard at researching, writing, revising, and practicing their argument papers on a self-selected topic of passion!  The class presentations took place today.  All of the students took part in this class event by being a judge of their peers using the rubric that will be used by faculty to select our Papa ‘Elima finalists, as well as presenting their own speeches.  The categories for scoring were måkaukau (preparation), ho’opuka (delivery), lawena (body action), and külana (poise).

Ho’omaika’i to the following students who scored in the top 5 of our class and will be journeying forward to vie for a coveted spot in our finals which takes place on the great stage at Lunalilo Hale!  (In no particular order)

Rhian, Kalå, Avani, Isabella, and Kalissa

These students will continue to revise and practice their speeches as they are proof that Hawaiians were great orators!
