Ohana Alert for the Week of Sept. 22-26

Build Team!

Building Team!

Here’s the week at a glance, as well as a few “heads up” deadlines for the near future… Just a friendly reminder that students should check our class blog daily during their homework time (whatever time is set aside for homework at home) to keep up to date on postings…I welcome ohana members to “dive in” too, but understand that you all have much kuleana during the week.  As mentioned at open house, if you have a few minutes on Sundays, you can catch up and get what’s upcoming in the week.  Blog post during the week will give you a look into what’s happening with students learning in our FISH!bowl too!  Homework is assigned Monday – Thursdays.  30 mins. of reading plus one more subject area which should not take more than an hour to complete.  Please remind students of their daily kuleana as I do so at school.  Please check planners daily and sign after homework is completed.  Appreciate your partnership.  Mahalo for your support!

Mon., Sept. 22-Day 1:  Students need to bring in all research they have completed for Genius Hour ➗ 2 presentations to school today to make final revisions.  (Research on this project was assigned as homework for the last 2 weeks)

Tues., Sept. 23-Day 2:  Students will be working on final presentations for Genius Hour ➗2 IN CLASS today.  Please have ALL notes, links, videos, etc. that was collected over the past 2 weeks ready.  Stay tuned to see final projects on our class blog soon!

Thurs., Sept. 25-Day 4:  Swimming for P.E.  Don’t forget your swim clothes and towel.  Again, we ask ohana køkua in helping in the pool! 🙂  We so appreciate all that have volunteered so far:  Dakota’s Grandpa, Kaiolohia’s Mom, Karissa’s Dad, Keahi’s Dad, Shania’s Grandpa & Kana’i’s Mom for cheering the team on!

Fri., Sept. 26-Day 5:  Aloha Wear Day!  Come with your beautiful aloha wear, hoping to take more photos for our blog! :)  Don’t forget about the 7 IXL skills that you need to complete also.  80% minimum per skill.

IMPORTANT UPCOMING INFORMATION FOR OHANA:

1) A flyer went home on Friday asking for donations as the keiki honor the Aunties and Uncles in the dining hall for providing us with wonderful meals at school.  Donations should be dropped off with Kumu Marcie or brought to class. 2) If you are not satisfied with school pictures, DO NOT cut apart!  Return the whole packet to Mrs. Rosehill as retake day is forthcoming.  If you cut apart even 1 photo, you’d need to pay again if you desire retakes. 3)  The trimester is quickly drawing to a close and wanted to gently remind everyone that 9 genres are due by Thurs., Oct. 23rd.  Read, Read, Read!  You can do it!
