FISH! at Hoʻoulu Ceremony

The 5B FISH! took to the stage at Lunalilo Hale one last time as the Papa ʻAlakaʻi of Kula Haʻahaʻa today.  After being at Kula Haʻahaʻa for 6 years for 14 students, 2 years for 8 students, and 1 for a couple, the FISH! have earned the right to imua (go forth) by studying hard and building on their academic foundation to move into the next phase of their schooling…MIDDLE SCHOOL!  The kihei signifies earning this honor!  If you look closely at the photo, each kihei is unique, as unique as each of the 24 smiling faces!  Each student used the kukui ash, mixed with the oil from the kukui to print their kiheis as the kukui represented them this year…as the kukui grove shelters like a house, so do the keiki alakaʻi shelter nā pokiʻi in our Kula.  They care for and help to nurture the younger students by setting good examples!  Let your light shine Kaʻu Iʻa!  Imua!
