Aloha e nā 5B Ohana,

The last week of school is now here, it is with much aloha in my heart that I write this last Ohana Alert for the year….Mahalo for all your support as we partnered together to help “our” children to thrive!  I look forward to seeing you this week at the Hoʻoulu Transition ceremony to mahalo you in person!  Our children WILL swim strong into middle school!

Just some FYIʻs….Summer packets went home on Friday with all students.  It contains important information for next school year as well as summer HOMEWORK that they need to complete and return on the first day of school.  Please be aware that they will be taking a math mastery test on the items in the packet upon their return.  (Just in case your child did not give it to you yet…us parents gotta stick together too as we look out for the best for our children!)  They also have a book that they need to borrow or purchase and complete before the first day.  You might want to start early.

Mon., May 20-Day 2:  The Papa Alakaʻi will be assisting Papa ʻEkolu again as they create posters of their Civic issues.

Wed., May 22-Day 4: Hoʻoulu Transition practice and last day of Specials classes for the year.

Thurs., May 23:  Hoʻoulu Transition ceremony at 8:30am at Lunalilo Hale.  Please be mindful that this is a cultural ceremony and NOT a graduation.   The students will be having a potluck after the ceremony as they spend their last days together.  E kala mai makua….students only… as they continue to bond as a team as they prepare to move “upstream” to middle school.  Last day for Holomua After School Program.

Fri., May 24:  LAST DAY OF SCHOOL…Aloha Wear Friday!  Donʻt forget.  Weʻll be having the last birthday celebration at lunch today.

Me Ke Aloha….A Hui Hou!

Karyl
