Ohana Alert for the Week of Jan. 21-25

Hereʻs the upcoming week…donʻt blink, January is flying by!

**REMINDER:  Donʻt forget to keep on memorizing and practicing your Hilo Legend speeches for Speech Festival preliminaries at the end of this week!

Mon., Jan. 21:  Martin Luther King, Jr. Day- NO SCHOOL!  Enjoy your ohana time together…maybe even post a comment to our blog (hint! hint!)  🙂

Tues., Jan. 22-Day 3: Security Appreciation Day!  The Haumāna of Kula Haʻahaʻa honor our wonderful Security team who greet us daily and keep us safe!  They are the first to hoʻokipa us onto campus and the last to send us off with an “a hui hou!”  Thank you Security!

Thurs. Jan. 24-Day 5: It Nā Koa Reward Day #5!  Donʻt forget it is Pajama Day!  How fun, you can sleep in an extra 5 minutes because you can roll out of bed and come right to school!  Well…maybe brush your teeth first! 🙂  I’m proud to report to our 5B Ohana…all of the 5B haumåna qualify to participate in the fun activity!  See you all in your pjs tomorrow!  Don’t forget to wear your wristband!  **  Due to time constraints on Friday, 5B will begin preliminaries on Thursday….look for parent update in student planners!  

Fri., Jan. 25-Day 6:  Charles Reed Bishop K-12 Convocation at Koaiʻa Gymnasium at 8:15am.  Dress White mandatory as we honor the husband of our beloved Ke Aliʻi Bernice Pauahi Bishop!  This is also Speech Festival Preliminaries…ALL 5B students will be sharing their speeches (Hilo Legends) with their classmates today.  Top 5 will be selected.

HEADS UP FOR NEXT WEEK:  Monday will be Semi Finals for Speech Festival- Only Top 5 to present on this day.  

Ohana invited on Wednesday, Jan. 30th to join us for the Finals at Lunalilo Hale @ 8:00am.  The top 2 from every class will be sharing their speeches on stage!
