Ohana Alert! Week of Oct. 31-Nov. 4

Here is the weekly update for you. Get those calendars out again!  1) We are down to the home stretch for reading genres as the trimester comes to a close this week!  All vocabulary for completed books are due to me Wed., Nov. 2.  2) Science exam this week!  Please study!  3)  Apologies for not having our Keiki Alaka’i list with me at home, I will update this post on Monday to list names.  I have been receiving so many positive comments about our Keiki Alaka’i so far!  Whoop!  Whoop to you all!  Great Job! 🙂  Like we discussed in class, nerves are natural, even my knees shake when I am alaka’i, but we ho’ihi.  Remember, loud and proud, know your kuleana and practice your hai’olelo in the mirror, and your whole TEAM is right there with you! We got your back! 🙂  4)  Just a friendly reminder,  Homework is assigned daily M-Th.  It includes 30 minutes of daily reading, another assignment,  & a parent signature on reading log and planner.  There is usually an ixl assignment and blog assignment too.  Mahalo for diving into our fishbowl to check on what is happening daily in the planners.
Monday, Oct. 31: -Day 1:  Kula Ha’aha’a’s Annual Halloween Parade begins at 12:25pm.  Parade route:  begins at dining hall, down the walkway by CRBLC, turns in front of Pauahi Lani Nui Admin. bldg., down the lower el walkway!  Join us for some spooktacular fun!  This will be a kodak moment!  Come capture some memories!  Students:  remember to follow the guidelines from Kumu Marcie that was sent home.

Tuesday, Nov. 1: Shawncen- Keiki Alaka’i-Day 2:  Christian Education today.

Wednesday, Nov. 2: Kiara- Keiki Alaka’i-Day 3: Science final exam with Mrs. Chang.  The students will get a special treat today!  The classes are invited to watch “The Sound of Music” at the Lunalilo Hale! Our own 5B FISH! will be singing and dancing their way into our hearts…on the grand stage too!  Break a leg (That’s theater talk for do a great job) to Aukai, Kyden, Daniel, Ashley, Kealapono, & Kaelyn.  We’re proud of you already!  Ohana:  If you would like to watch this wonderful production filled with KS keiki in all divisions, please contact Ms. Lisa Pana for ticket purchase information.

Thursday, Nov. 3: Lokelani- Keiki Alaka’i-Day 4:  Official end to Trimester #1!  Great job of ho’omau students of 5B!  Imua Day-(Blue and White) Show your Kamehameha spirit and support by wearing blue and white!  See flyer from Kumu Marcie which went home last week.  Library Day- Don’t forget to bring your books to school to return to avoid any late fees.  This would be a great time to plan ahead for Trimester #2 reading genre requirements, which will be the same…9 genres! 🙂

Friday, Nov. 4: NO SCHOOL for keiki!

*Heads Up for the coming week: Attention parents, we need your kokua.  Mrs. Pai has set up a wonderful visit by Aunty Gerry Johansen  and friends on Wed. Nov. 9th.  They will be sharing the mo’olelo on Plantation Days.  We appreciate if you could donate a lei for this occasion to ho’okipa our special guests.  Please let me know this week if you can kokua by responding with a comment on our blog, writing a note, or giving me a call @ 982-0246.
