Pa'a Picwheel of choice pic

During chapel service on Friday, Kahu Cathy, Mr. Tschillard and Aha ‘Opio introduced the concept of PA’A (Positive Action Always) and reacquainted us with the Wheel of Choice.  What do these two concepts mean to you?  Why do you think it is important that we apply them in our lives?

If you hear the word PA’A, it means Positive Actions Always.
And I leared this in chaple is
somewere you learn to be ALOHA,
    and to be MALAMA. (Love)
    (Humble)

  2. Kalista Says:

I really agree with Hunter.PAA stands for Positive,Actions,Always.

  3. Evan Says:

I think PA’A is important because its the way you should behave and how you control yourself.I also think the wheel of choice is important because it showed us how to make a good choice. PA’A should be a habit for all of us.(Including the whole wide world!). Without it, people would be mean to each other. The wheel of choice offered a solution when you are mad at someone like forgiving.

  4. Trent Says:

PA’A means Positive Actions Always. In chapel, we learned the word PA’A. We should always do these things at recess, walk away, talk to people and say sorry, ignore, do something else, tell an adult, last but not least, forgive.

  5. Charlize Says:

Paa means love and care to me.God is love. We should show love to family and friends.

  6. bailey Says:

When you hear the word PA’A you should remeber that the p in PA’A stans for positive. Positive means that you think about the good things in a problem and not the bad things. The frist A in PA’A stands for actions. It means to do good actions to people and people in our community. The last letter, A stands for always. Always means that you should always have good actions and be positive to athers.

  7. Pono Says:

I am always active at reces and my class room. I am always postive to my Tutu and Grandpa. sometimes I ignore the people that bother me alot.

  8. Camille Says:

    P A A
    o c l
    s t w
    i i a
    t o y
    i n s
    v s

PA’A is a really good thing to remember at recess and at the playground. So is the Wheel of Choice(WOC).

  9. Caitlin Says:

PA’A means positive actions always. It means to make good choices always, all the time. An example is when you’re playing a sport have good sportsmanship. The wheel of choice is a wheel that tells you the steps when you have hard times. It’s a reminder so we know what to do. It’s important for us to use PA’A and wheel of choice, so we can live in a world where people are calm, happy and peaceful.

  10. Mrs. Nakamoto Says:

    Camille, Hunter and Kalista,

Could you be more specific about what these words mean? Could you give an example of when it would be good to apply PA’A and/or the Wheel of Choice?

  11. Noelani Says:

I learned that PA’A stands for positive action Always and thats why its PA’A because the P in PA’A stands for positive like I showed up here and the Action Always too and at chapel they showed us the wheel of what you could do for or when you do PA’A and that wheel that they showed us is called the wheel of choices.

  12. Mrs. Nakamoto Says:

    Noelani,

Can you give a specific example of when you would use “PA’A?” How about the wheel of choice?

  13. Camille Says:

PA’A is a really good thing to remember at recess and at the playground and ALSO when you get older, too. So is the Wheel of Choice (WOC).

  14. Keanu Says:

PA’A means Positive Actions Always.Since everyone plays rough sometimes at recess,we discussed about it at chapel.Sometimes when were playing four square, people know there out and there asking the third person whose out.

  15. koalii Says:

I think that pa’a(positive action always) shows us we are suppose to always be lisening to our teacher and the actions part is we have to be friendly to our classmates and always means that we have to do it all the time not only one time or sometimes. The wheel of choice is when you do positive actions. Like when you get into an arguement you should use the wheel of choice and think talk forgive and walk away or do something else get away.

  16. kalani Says:

I think that it is inportant that we apply thes things to our live because if we didn`t we would not be very good adults/people.

  17. Tara Says:

I think PA’A really helps us deal with our lives if we just stop and think before we do something and think positive. Try and listen to that voice inside your head and answer the question is that the right thing to do? The wheel of choice gives you some actions you do if somebody bothers you. I like the one thing because it relates to PA’A: think before you make a move

  18. Dylan Says:

I think that the wheel is very helpful.Pa`a could be used at the playground, like Camille says.

  19. Esther Says:

I learnd that if someone is irratating you you don’t have to fight with it you can just walk a way and if you did something mean you just have to tell them do you forgive me. You have to tell it with LOVE.

  20. Hunter Says:

positive means the good things not the bad things.
it would be good to use PA’A when you are around your family and in school. you should also use pa’a on the bus because you have to follow the rules.

  21. keenyn Says:

paa meens positive, actions, aways i have heard that in chaple

  22. Puuwai Says:

I think that positive actions always and making right choices go together. God teaches us to know the difference between right and wrong. He gives the opportunity to make choices and because we want to do what God wants us to do we know in our heart that not making the right choices will not make God happy . If we make bad choices we will have negative actions always. An example of PA`A, is even if people talk badly of you and tease you, you should love them and be nice to them because God will change them to be a better person.

  23. Kason Says:

PA’A means positive actions always. At night time, morning, and noon so that you may do right choices when you want to do a naughty thing. It catches you when you are about to do something bad.

  24. Kason Says:

The wheel of choice is good because it has forgiveness. Kahu Kathy teaches us how to forgive others. Now, because of the wheel of choice, I can pray to do and remember these things/choices.

  25. Kason Says:

So if a friend wants me to make trouble to someone, I could walk away, ignore them, talk to them, talk to an adult, think to myself, mind my business,do something else, or forgive them.

  26. Pono Says:

    PA’A means positive action always.

  27. Noelani Says:

Mrs.Nakamoto I will answer your question by saying that you could use PA’A by the wheel of choices and maybe you could do this to show PA’A walk away when someone bothers you or says something unkind to you or you could Mind your OWN buisnes or talk about it on what you said that was maybe unkind and apoligize and say you wont do that hurtful thing again. Also Mrs.Nakamoto I would say that if everybody can do PA’A Positive Action Always I would say we do it always.

  28. Kalista Says:

PAA means positive actions always. Here is an example how you can use positive actions always you can use them in sports.Like Camille, you could use positive actions always in soccer, and yes of course baseball and basketball Kason.Oh,and yes in football to Bailey. tetherball,volleyball,t-ball tyqando, jijitsu, marshalarts. So remember use positive actions always often/always

  29. Hunter Says:

I really agery with you Esther.

I also really agery with you
    Camille.

  30. Puuwai Says:

Positive means the good things NOT the bad things. The wheel of choice is good beacause it has the right things not the wrong thing. We can make God proud by doing the things on the wheel of choice.

  31. Kahu Cathy Says:

I’m so impressed with your blogging. You are obviously really thinking about Pa`a and the Wheel of Choice. I think it takes self-control to slow down and make the right choice, but what kind of friend would we rather have? One who yells at us and calls us names, or one who has better ways of solving problems? Ha…I already know the answer to that question. Have you sent the blog link to Mr. Kalama? He would really like to know you’re thinking about the presentation that he and Student Council planned. I think you should also send the link to Elisha Fronda, the Student Body President who spoke. He’s in Mrs. Cramer’s class. Thanks for letting me join you here at your blogsite! Bye!

  32. Hunter Says:

Thank you for your comments Kahu Cathy.

  33. kalista Says:

Cammile, thats pretty cool what you did!

  34. Evan Says:

So far,Pa’a has been going on for a while. That’s really good because that really means that we listened good for directions about Pa’a in chapel. It even happens at recess too. We have to do positive action all the the time. The more we do it,the more we get used to it. I wonder if everybody in this state is doing Pa’a?

  35. Noelani Says:

    Positive
    Actions
    Always

    PAA
