Aloha!

My name is Winnie Lam and I am the Orchestra director at Kamehameha Schools Kapālama Middle School.

This is my tenth year teaching Orchestra here at the middle school.  I really enjoy working with students at this age group.  I graduated at the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a Masters of Arts in Music Education and a Bachelor of Education in Secondary Instrumental Music Education degrees.  I have also taught private violin and viola lessons for fourteen years.  Before teaching at Kamehameha Schools, I served as the Beginning Strings Co-director for the Hawaii Youth Symphony from 2001 to 2004.  I also taught the After School Advanced Strings Orchestra at Moanalua Elementary School from 2002 to 2003.

In my spare time, I like to go shopping, play my violin, and spend time with my husband, my two children, and friends.
