Prerequisites

To minimize the potential of running into device related issues on testing day, make sure to check the following:

  1. Network Settings
    • Ensure Private WiFi Address is set to OFF. If it is not OFF, visit a Wahi Lolouila.
    • Open System Preferences > WiFi > Click on the three dots next to KS WiFi > Network Settings > Private WiFi Address: OFF.
  2. Global Protect
    • Update to the latest version of Global Protect
    • Open Self Service > search for Global Protect > Install (this will install the latest version)
  3. MacOS Fully Updated
    • Reference “Missing Kuleana” emails for instructions specific to your version. If you run into issues while updating, visit a Wahi Lolouila.

After performing the above prerequisites, complete the Bluebook Device Test below.

BlueBook Device Test
Students should test the BlueBook app as close to testing day as possible to prevent application issues on test day.

  1. Launch the BlueBook app
  2. Click on “Test Your Device”
  3. Ensure all 4 checkmarks are green (i.e. Memory, Operating System, Device lock, Disk Space)

FAQs

After launching the BlueBook app, I get an error message saying I need to update the app.

To update BlueBook, follow the steps below:

  1. Open Self Service and search for “BlueBook”
  2. Look for the tile “Bluebook Exams – DELETE” click on the “Delete Again” or “Delete” button.
  3. After the action completes, click the “Open” or “Install” button under the tile “Bluebook Exams Self Service – ksvppadmin1“.
  4. Now you should be able to Open BlueBook again, this time it should be the latest version

The “Operating system” check failed.

This likely means your operating system needs to be updated. Please reference our support article on Performing MacOS Updates to update your OS. If you are having issues updating, please visit a Wahi Lolouila.

The “Disk space” check failed.

This likely means you are running low on disk space (i.e. you have too much stuff saved on your laptop). Remove unnecessary files from your laptop and run the test again. If you are not able to clear up enough space and the check does not pass, please visit a Wahi Lolouila.

The “Memory” or “Device lock” check(s) failed.

Please visit a Wahi Lolouila for assistance as these errors may require physical repair.
