Ma ka hana ka ‘ike! In the Journey of the task, there is knowledge!

Reflect on your learning

Reflect on your learning

Aloha e nå haumåna,

In the journey of the task, is the knowledge….Something to consider as you work on the night’s assignment of fact collection related to Hilo Hanakahi:  Reflect on our huaka’i with Kumu Lehua and all the information he shared about the many people, places, and mo’olelo of that wahi pana.  He shared much about natural wonders which explained why places were named, spoke of important people like King Kalakaua, Queen Kamamalu, King Hanakahi, even shared legends of the wahi pana too…

Ask yourself…if I “google” Hilo Hanakahi and get limited information, is that the end of my search?  Do I stop and consider that my “BEST” effort in fact collection?  Did I review my notes taken on the huaka’i and reflect on what Kumu shared?  Do I stop the journey?  How could I continue and journey on?  Imagine this…if you get lost driving, do you just park the car on the side of the road or do you try another road?

As the olelo noe’au ma ka hana ka ‘ike says…in the journey of the task, there is knowledge.  Journey on ka’u I’a and SWIM STRONG!

Ho'omau!

Ho’omau!
