The FISH! Swim to “Change Our World, One Heart at a Time!”-PART II

The FISH! of Papa ‘Elima have a number of huge endeavors that they are taking on…They are researching the final ideas for the 5th grade play on Lili’uokalani and getting their mana’o ready for the performance. This takes a lot more effort, more than just fact collecting, that would have been easy. Trying to breathe “Ha” (life/spirit) into the words to make it a valuable learning experience for the actors as well as the audience takes a joint effort of all the Papa ‘Elima team. Both 5A and 5B have spent an abundance of hours on this project and have taken Lili’uokalani’s words to heart…”E Onipa’a….to be steadfast and caring in love of the people and Hawai’i. Papa ‘Elima hopes to share their learning to make it a memorable loving experience for all!
Another huge project is “Project Kahiau” that Papa ‘Elima has teamed up with the Ministry Team, under the leadership of Miss Shonnie, and Hershey’s Company who donated hundreds of “KISSES” to MAHALO our Big Island Troops. The team has worked hard by asking for donations from Hershey’s (24 bags), as well as donated a bunch on their own (another 26 bags). They have begun the process of packing the 1,500+ goodie bags to ship out to “Make the Day” of the troops. This will include goodie bags for each of our “Warriors” to go out and in turn, “Make Someone Else’s Day” too! The letters have been written, the prayers have been videoed, all the bags will be packed (soon…by the end of the week), and our aloha will be on its way!
The FISH! know that in all that we try to do, we are lifted up by many. We MAHALO, Ke Akua for his love and guidance, Mrs. Debus for helping us to “sing like angels,” Mrs. Rosehill for the “artistic vision” that will bring our stage to life, Mrs. Stack & Mrs. Chang for their excellence in 21st century “techie skills”, Kumu Crabbe & Kumu Kilo for their “mana’o” on Lili’u, Mr. Kleckner at Hershey’s, Uncle Neal & Aunty Dalynnda for doing layout and printing of our labels, Mrs. Leialoha & Mrs. Isabel for graciously cutting our labels, Mrs. Naeole-Wong for her belief, and especially our ohana for your continued support and all the donations!
