Diving Into “Unfamiliar Waters” (New Learning) With the Ipads

The students have been hard at work learning new ways to enhance their learning with our brand new iPads  in the classroom…from Educreation, Book Creator, Khan Academy, Meteor Math, to being able to problem solve video making for book recommendations, how to work more efficiently, and of course, how to get instant answers to their many questions and much, much more!

In one of our “techie” lessons, the students learned what a “flipped” lesson was and even practiced a “simulated” one in small groups with Mrs. Hara, Miss Shonnie, and of course me in anticipation that we will be able to take iPads home soon.  (Weʻre wishing out loud and crossing our fingers!) Look who “dove” into our fishbowl just as our class “flipped” out…our headmaster, Dr. Stender! He was very interested in what & how we were learning with our ipads and asked students questions as they used the Khan Academy app to understand the concepts of +, -, and x decimals!  We canʻt wait to share more of our ipad learning with you, ask your keiki about our ipad learning and…stay connected by diving back into our FISH!bowl!  **See below for a brief description of a “Flipped Classroom.”
