Ohana Alert for the Week of Oct. 17-21

Aloha e na Ohana,

Wanted to take the time to say MAHALO to all of the hāumana and ohana of Kula Ha’aha’a for raising $433.00 to donate to the Susan G. Komen fund where finding a cure for breast cancer is a priority!  Whoop!  Whoop!  Great team effort! Here is the weekly updates!  October is sure flying by.  Like I mentioned many times before, time sure flies when you’re having fun!  Get out your calendars….Students, check to see when you signed up for Keiki Alaka’i duties to lead our morning ‘oli too.  Don’t forget to include a FISH! Philosophy component as well as a Hawaiian Value to share your mana’o on.

Monday, Oct 17:( Day 3-Science Special)  Ekalesia @ 8:00am at Lunalilo Hale.  Special Dress White attire MANDATORY.  Boys, please wear your white polo shirts and long blue slacks.  Girls, please wear your white polo shirt and blue skirts.

Tuesday, Oct. 18:  (Day 4-Hawaiian Special)  Bree is Keiki Alaka’i. Bus Driver Appreciation Day.  Go out and Make your Bus Driver’s Day.  Don’t forget to show your gratitude to him or her.  A simple mahalo is always appreciated.  Library Day today.

Wednesday, Oct. 19:  Pono is Keiki Alaka’i.

Thursday, Oct. 20:  (Day 6-Art Special) Nevaeh is Keiki Alaka’i.                                         PTO General Membership Meeting @ 5:30pm

Friday, Oct. 21: (Day 1-Music/P.E./Health Special)  Pōmai is Keiki Alaka’i. Aloha Friday.  It is ALOHA wear day.  Don’t forget to come in your beautiful aloha attire.

On-going Reminder: The trimester is rapidly ending, ask your child about reading goals.  Check on how they are working hard to reach the 9 genres.  Have a “talk story” session about the current book he/she is reading.  The students are working hard to meet their reading goals, give your keiki a huge hug for the great strides!

Heads Up…Upcoming events: Tues., Oct. 25th:  Papa ‘Elima will be doing vision screening again this year.  Mahalo to Dr. Fernandez, Aunty Cheryl and Aunty Julie for keeping our “peepers” working fine and focused!
