Kūlia I Ka Nu’u

Keep your eye on the prize! The students were told in the beginning of the year that they were all expected to read 9 different genres a trimester and a total of 1,000,000 words for the school year! I shared this information with ohana members who came to open house also. Eyes are slowing going back into sockets, jaws are slowing rising into proper position because it doesn’t seem so terrifying anymore! The students have each calculated how many days it will take to read a 120 page chapter book & shared with parents, set reading goals for the trimester, looked over genre definitions, & are READING like crazy!
As a team, the students have already read OVER 2 MILLION WORDS! Whoop! Whoop! That is over 54 books already completed.
Please continue to encourage and support your child. I have spoken to all 24 students and every one of them has expressed the”hiki no” attitude!  We strive…to Thrive!
